Daijiworld impact: Udupi CMC closes deep ditches dug for streetlights on NH 169A

Udupi, May 31: After the news over the ditches dug on the dividers for installing streetlights on NH 169A was published on Daijiworld.com, Udupi city municipality council swung into action and closed the ditches. The deep ditches dug for installation of streetlights under Smart City project from Kadiyali till Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College by the CMC authorities were filled with mud and closed on Wednesday May 31.

Daijiworld.com had published the news on delay of work causing difficulty to pedestrians to cross the road. The report had also highlighted about pedestrians facing danger, dug out sand put on road disturbing the vehicle traffic, lots of plastic waste thrown into the ditches causing harm to the environment.

The public, which is suffering without streetlights from the past one year, were given the assurance of installation of the same from Kadiyali till Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College under Smart City project.

    They closed the ditch?Well done .Be ready with mud again when the rain falls and goes deeper than before.Shame on you UDIPI Govt.you should have done it better once than again again.waste of money and simply throwing mud to citizens eyes.Why couldnt done with some jelly and damar.in summer it might survive and in monsoon too.

    I have no better words o express for the photo coverage of lousy work being done. CMC should have done this work much, much before the monsoon.
