Kasargod, May 25: Kasargod railway police arrested Sanish (45), a resident of Thrissur Kattangad Karamukki, on the accusation of sexually harassing a girl medical student on train.
It is accused that Sanish sexually harassed the said girl student on the morning of May 23 on Chennai-Mangaluru mail express train. The victim girl student had boarded the general compartment of the train from Thalassery. The accused who was travelling in the same compartment is alleged to have physically touched her. When she objected to the behaviour of the accused, other passengers in the compartment rebuked the accused.
Meanwhile, accused Sanish got down from the train at Neeleshwar and escaped. However, the girl medical student had clicked his photo on her mobile and filed a complaint with Kasargod railway police. Police made the photograph viral on social media.
On the same day at night, the accused was having food at a tea stall on Hosadruga Kotaccheri road. A man who was having snacks from the same tea stall, noticed the accused, whose photo flashed on social media, and informed the police. The police quickly arrived on the scene, arrested Sanish and handed him over to Kasargod police.
