Bantwal, May 20: A youth from Andhra Pradesh (AP) has reached the taluk on his way from Puttur to Mangaluru as part of the all India bicycle tour to create awareness about environment protection among the public.
Chaithanya, native of Nallur of Andhra Pradesh, is the youth who began his tour on December 25, 2022 from Nallur, has already covered 9400 km on his bicycle. In the past 146 days, Chaithanya has travelled the states of Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka states. He also has the aim of creating a Guinness world record by riding a bicycle for 625 days.
The main aim of Chaithanya’s bicycle expedition is to create awareness about the ill effects of plastic use among the public. He says that plastic usage should be reduced and the use of new plastic should be prevented by using the same plastic again and again. He also advises to plant at least four to five plants around each house to reduce the heat. He is inspired by his father Guram Narasimhalu. Chaithanya has done DPharm and wants to do something for the society.
In addition to creating awareness on plastic usage, Chaithanya also wants to know the various cultures of India. He will be covering 50000 km during his intended tour.
