Shiggaon/Haveri, Apr 30: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai was all praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular radio talk show, ‘’Mann ki Baat,’’ and described it as a forum for the expression of the country's feelings.
Speaking to media persons in his assembly constituency of Shiggaon in Haveri district on Sunday, he said 'Mann ki Baat' is heard at every house in the country as it is the expression of the country. It is also the platform to hear people's problems and to suggest solutions.
"The programme connects to the country those who are doing small jobs in villages and has helped many to change their jobs to become self-employed. This is an excellent programme. The entire country will get inspiration if they find a perfect place for the exchange of thoughts. It is opened to everyone,’’ he said.
The chief minister said Modi is a great leader and must be complimented for conducting the 100th edition of the programme.
CM grateful to Nadda for his trust
"I am indebted to BJP National President J P Nadda for reposing his trust and faith in my leadership. He promised to take everyone with confidence.’’
He said Nadda has said good words about him with a lot of expectations of him. He had told the same thing during the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
"The BJP is quite clear in its stand and the election will be faced under the leadership of the CM. The new CM will be elected by the newly-elected legislators and the Central Parliamentary Board,’’ he said..
Reacting to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's statement that Modi did not visit Karnataka during the floods, Bommai said it was the Modi Government that released more grants to the state during the nature's fury.
While the Priyanka Gandhi Government was in power, Rs 2,000 was given for house damage and the amount was hiked during the Modi regime. The maximum number of farmers' suicide happened during the Siddaramaiah government and did Priyanka or Rahul Gandhi come here, he asked.
He said it is not possible to fool the people by talking irrelevantly. The information that the people have was lacking by Congress and Priyanka Gandhi.
On Belagavi Congress MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar's statement that an IT raid is being prepared, the chief minister ridiculed saying why one must be afraid if they are upright.
Bommai asked former prime minister H D Deve Gowda to publicly announce which national party he wants to have an alliance with after the election results are announced.
