Mangaluru: St Aloysius College holds university level cultural programme 'Dindima 2023'

Mangaluru, Apr 21: The Department of Kannada, St Aloysius College organized a day-long university-level cultural programme 'Dindima 2023' on April 17 in L F Rasquinha Hall.

Vijayakumar Kodiyalbail, Tulu theatre director and Deepak Rai Panaje, Tulu-Kannada theatre and film artiste were the guests. The programme was symbolically inaugurated by playing dindima by the dignitaries.

Addressing the audience, Vijayakumar said, it is important to develop a good personality along with talent. He suggested the students focus on their studies along with their talents. He praised Mangaluru cine artists who recently created history in the Kannada film industry and their efforts in bringing Mangaluru Kannada in a higher level.

 

He also mentioned that, in the recent past, Mangaluru Kannada was used only for comedy in the film industry of Bengaluru.

Deepak Rai Panaje, said that talents can be displayed only if one gets a suitable platform. He complimented the organisers for creating such an opportunity for students to exhibit their talents.

Dr Praveen Martis, SJ in his presidential remarks said that everyone has different talents but they should get a proper platform to unveil it. He congratulated the participants for wished them well.

Dr Sudhakumari, programme coordinator, Dr Mahalinga Bhat, hod of Kannada. Dr Vishwanath Badikana, associate professor, student coordinators, Kashyap P R, Aaron Albuquerque and Reshma Chandrasekhar were present on the stage.

17 colleges affiliated to Mangalore University participated in these competitions. Out of which Poornaprajna Evening College were the winner and Sri Dhavala College Moodabidre were the runners.

Shreyas compered the programme. Dr Sudha Kumari welcomed the gathering. Dr Mahalinga Bhat offered his thanks.
