Mumbai, Jul 4 (IANS): A Bangalore-bound Jetlite aircraft made an emergency landing Monday afternoon at the Mumbai airport after a suspected engine snag, sources said here.
Flight S2-112 took off at 11.22 a.m. but was forced to return an hour later.
A full emergency was declared at the airport at 12.33 p.m. and the flight landed safely a few minutes later, an airline official said .
The official said that it was "a normal landing" in tune with the company's precautionary procedures.
"All the 173 passengers aboard are safe, they have been taken care of and put on alternate flights to Bangalore," the official said.
The grounded aircraft is being inspected by technicians, he said.
