Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 9: The election control room set up in the Deputy Commissioner's office to oversee poll code violations has recorded 133 complaints from Dakshina Kannada district and 95 complaints from Udupi district.
Flying squad team, video surveillance team, static surveillance team, sector officer team, video viewing team, MCC nodal officer and account expenditure teams have been constituted to implement the poll model code of conduct. These teams are working round the clock in three shifts with at least 10 members working in any given shift.

Rules are being closely monitored for any violation even in media, social media and electronic media. In Udupi district, 10 cases have been registered for violating the rules on social media and one case in print media and two cases in electronic media. In Dakshina Kannada district, so far out of 54 complaints received action has been taken against 38 violations. The remaining complaints are either improper and do not have complete information due to which they have been rejected. Action will be initiated against the correct complaints through the AROs/ROs.
The Election Commission of India has also launched the CVigil app to take complaints for which control rooms have been set up to monitor its functioning round the clock. Members of the public can register their complaints pertaining to violations of poll model code by calling on 0820-2574991.
In Dakshina Kannada, a control room has been opened at the DC's office to receive complaints. Public can also call on the toll-free number 1950 to the control room to register their complaints round the clock.
