Mangalore: Mother–Daughter Duo Brutally Murdered in Broad Daylight

Mangalore, Jun 28: A woman and her seven-year-old daughter was reportedly stabbed and killed in broad day light by unknown miscreants at Guddeangady area of Panjimogaru near Kavoor here on Tuesday June 28 at around 1.00 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Razia (32) and Fathima Zuha (7). The reason for the murder is cited as family skirmish. It is said that unknown assaulters came in a bike and fled after the act. Only mother and daughter was at the residence when they were assaulted.
The duo succumbed to injuries at A J Hospital. The deceased child Fathima Zuha was suffereing from fever and hence at home. She was the student of std III at Victoria English Medium School, Ladyhill.
Hameed, Razia's husband is a scrap dealer. The deceased woman has two sons. The elder one, Jiyaz is a student of std VII and was at school during the incident, while the youngest Zahid is one-year-old.
Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and deputy commissioner of police Mutturaya visited the residence of the murdered. Canine squad and finger-print experts were pressed into service. The dogs sniffed and ascended up to 150 metre of hill near the house.
Police said that the daughter was killed in order to destroy the eye witness. A case has been registered at Kavoor police station.
Seemanth Kumar Singh informed that two teams have been formed to investigate the case and that the police haave already found some clues. However, he declined to reveal more details to the media.
