Mangalore, Jun 27: "The reason for my resignation is personal and I am not moving to any other party," B Nagaraj Shetty told media persons on Monday June 27 after chief minister Yeddyurappa met him at his residence. The CM visited him after offering prayers at Shree Kshetra Dharmastala in the morning.
Shetty added that Yeddyurappa asked him to meet him again in Bangalore after fulfilling the last rites of his mother who passed away recently.
However, Yeddyurappa declined to comment on the issue of Nagaraj Shetty’s resignation. On MSEZ row, he said that a decision will be taken on the cancellation of 1,400 acres of land notified in Bajpe, Kalavaaru and surrounding areas for the second phase work of MSEZ and order will be passed immediately. Notification of land in the first phase is a closed chapter, he said.
On Deve Gowda’s dharna in front of his residence in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa said that since the former Prime Minister knew that he would be visiting Dharmasthala, no importance could be given to his ‘dharna’. This kind of move does not bring him any respect, he commented. He added that he will not comment on Deve Gowda and his family anymore.
The CM said that Rs 160 crore will be released for the development of Shree Kukke Subrahmanya Kshetra in three phases. In the first phase, Rs 80 crore will be released and the development works will be completed in 5 years, he said. The CM condoled the death of 15 people in a road accident near Tumkur on Monday and announced a compensation of Rs 1 lac to the kin of each victim.
