Mangaluru, Mar 24: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC) held its college day celebration on the campus in Mangaluru. The event featured several notable speakers and honorees on Friday, March 24.
Director of HR for Molex India, Ivan D'Souza, spoke at the event and praised the institution's continued success. He also encouraged students to choose their path carefully and to follow their passions.
Priyanka Joseph, a senior product manager at Ingram Micro UAE, spoke fondly of her time at SJEC, noting the changes that have occurred since her graduation. She also credited the institution with helping her connect with spirituality.
Bishop of Mangalore diocese, Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, congratulated all of the students who have excelled academically and beyond.
The event also included the presentation of the annual report by Principal Dr Rio D'Souza, as well as the honoring of meritorious students and PhD holders.
A colorful cultural event followed the formal ceremony, with Assistant Director Fr Alwyn D'Souza and Convenors Franco A J Menezes also in attendance.
The gathering was welcomed by Director Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, and the event was wrapped up with a vote of thanks by Convenor Dr Shakila B, and compering by Joel D'Mello and Prathima S.
