Mumbai, Jun 20: The metro-based Thiya Samaj ® organized a programme to distribute scholarships to the community’s poor and talented students at their office located in Ghatkopar (East) here, on Sunday June 19.
The Samaj president Chandrashekar R Belchada presided over the simple programme here on Sunday evening.
In his presidential address, Belchada said that the new generation of students will have no dearth for financial help as there are many social welfare and voluntary organizations generously contributing to their cause. He regretted that students are shying away from availing the scholarships and urged parents of get their children to avail the scholarships to excel in studies and secure a bright future.
The Samaj west zone regional committee president Narayan Suvarna urged students to make use of the scholarship to excel in studies and shape a better future.
Donor Sarojini Bangera, Samaj vice-president Sudhakar Ucchil, honorary treasurer Ramesh S Ullal, joint secretary Mohan B M, joint treasurer Sundar Ail, west zone women’s wing president Chandra Suvarna, youth wing president Rajesh Suvarna, and Thiya Samaj bulletin ‘Thiya Jyoti’ editor Sridar S Suvarna were present on the dais.
