Mangalore: Bankers' Club Felicitates Founder Member Ananthakrishna

Mangalore, Jun 17: Bankers' Club here organized a felicitation for Ananthakrishna, non-executive chairman of the city-based Karnataka Bank Ltd, in recognition of his contributions to the field of banking in general, and the club in particular, on Thursday June 16. Ananthakrishna happens to be the founder member of the club, besides being its former president.
Speaking at the function, Ananthakrishna acknowledged the important role being played by bankers' clubs in the overall progress of the banking sector. "The club offers a valuable forum for its members to exchange information about the developments and current affairs in banking sector. It creates a friendly environment between different banks, and therefore, contributes immensely to the overall progress of banking sector. The affinity and respect showered on me by the club has overwhelmed me with emotions,” he added.
On this occasion, he also unveiled the official website of the club, bankersclub.net.in.
Karnataka Bank general manager, M V C S Karanth, Syndicate Bank deputy general manager, J S Shenoy, State Bank of Mysore deputy general manager, M M Shanbhag, Corporation Bank deputy general manager, John D’Souza and general manager, B R Bhat, were present.
Managing director of Karnataka Bank Ltd, P Jayaram Bhat, who is the current president of the club, released the logo of the club on this occasion. Executive president of the club and general manager of Corporation Bank, B R Bhat, welcomed. Secretary, Renuka N Bangera, was present.
