Sana'a, June 14 (IANS) Security authorities in Yemen have arrested several people as suspects in connection with June 3 assassination bid against President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the ruling party's media stated Monday.
The attack wounded President Saleh and forced him to fly to the Saudi capital of Riyadh to receive treatment.
The security authorities were questioning the suspects who were arrested following the attack, but didn't identify those suspects, Xinhua quoted the report as stating.
"The initial investigations revealed that the (opposition) Joint Meeting Parties was involved in the attack," it added.
The Defence Ministry earlier in the day said Saleh was in good condition now and would deliver a speech to the nation "very soon", without putting a time frame.
