Udupi, Feb 20: The seers of coastal region urged BJP national president J P Nadda, who met them, to implement their various demands.
The seers asked Nadda to respect Sanatana dharma, culture and good thought, uniform civil code in the state, giving priority to implement national educational policy, implementing industrial schemes in a way not to harm the bountiful natural, cultural and religious resources of the coastal region, suitable recognition to the Tulu language, establishing the National Investigation Agency offices in coastal and Malnad districts to curtail love Jihad, illegal cattle trafficking and terrorist activities, effective implementation of anti-cow slaughter law and offering assistance to complimentary schemes in protecting the cows, giving corruption-free, clean and transparent administration and action to prevent encroachment of land belonging to temples.
Puttige seer Sreepada urged Nadda to implement Udupi corridor scheme in lines of Kashi corridor project.
Puttige seer who took part in the convention of saints that took place at Pejawar Math on Monday said that the union government should pay attention to protect the Hindus living overseas and the protection of temple in overseas countries. He also urged effective implementation of uniform civil code and anti-cow slaughter rule. The saints urged Nadda to curtail love jihad, cow jihad and terrorist activities.
Union minister Shobha Karandlaje, BJP national chief secretary C T Ravi, state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister Sunil Kumar, MLA Raghupati Bhat, leaders Pradeep Rao and Suprasad Shetty were present.
After offering pooja at Sri Krishna sanctum sanctorum, Nadda visisted the Pejawar Math and had discussion with seers of Ashta Maths and seers of various maths of coastal region. More than 10 seers of coastal region and leaders of Hindu community took part in the discussion and highlighted the various demands of coastal region.
BJP national president J P Nadda arrived to Udupi on Monday and visited Sri Krishna Math and took darshan of Lord Sri Krishna.
Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puttige Math, Sri Vidyaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Kukke Subramanya Math, Sri Vinayakananda Swamiji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Bailoor, Udupi, Sri Vidyendra Swamiji of Chitrapur Math Mangaluru, Sri Charu Keerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Jain Math, Moodbidri, Sri Mohandasa Swamiji of Sri Dhama Manila Mangaluru, Sir Kala Hastendra Saraswati Maha Swamiji of Sri Anegondi Saraswati Peetam Udupi and Sri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Sri Kshethra Gurupur Mangaluru were present in the discussion with Nadda.
