Bengaluru, Feb 20: IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil posted some personal photos of IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri on social media and also made some serious accusations. Some people have expressed anguish on Roopa for sharing such personal photos on social media. Roopa in turn gave clarification on the same.
Some netizens questioned Roopa on social media and said, “How proper it is to put personal photos of someone on social media? Does it not amount to violation of government’s civil service rules? Or is it that these rules do not apply to you only?”
Defending her action, Roopa replied, “I want to say to those who are asking why I posted those pictures is that if she has no issues sending them, then why anyone should bother about it? Let her say from her own mouth as to who sent those pictures to whom and why. What was the intention behind it? To create rift in family? Only few of you, who have misplaced sympathy on Rohini, who has become a thorn in the life of many girls.”
Meanwhile, home minister Araga Jnanendra said, “It is really shameful that two high level women officers of the government are fighting on social media like general public. This tarnishes the image of the government. Hence, chief minister Bommai has asked the chief secretary (CS) to issue notice to both the officers.
“The friction between the two officers is reported continuously in various media channels from Sunday. Many matters are mentioned. If they had personal differences, they should have brought it to the notice of chief secretary of the government. It is not right to involve in social media spat like this. The government will not be quiet noticing all these developments. Both will be served notice. Now we will serve notice to both. If their behaviour continues, we will take decision over further action,” he said.
CM Bommai ordered chief secretary Vandita Sharma to issue notice to both Roopa and Rohini.
