Mangaluru, Feb 17: A man, who fell into the trap of making quick money through digital marketing, lost Rs 18.43 lac. A complaint in this regard is filed in the CEN police station of the city.
On December 14, 2022, the victim got a WhatsApp message of a stranger giving details of making money through digital marketing. He became a member of a Telegram channel that was sent by the stranger.
The stranger asked the victim to register himself on a website through the channel that was sent to him. Accordingly, the victim registered himself and paid Rs 9,000 on December 18 and got the money back promptly.

Later, the stranger asked the victim to send money in different phases and the website showed that the money was doubled in its data. The victim who believed the stranger sent Rs 18.43 lac in various transactions.
When the victim tried to get back the money he invested, the stranger asked him to pay money again. Though the victim did not send any money further, he has not received Rs 18.43 lac that is invested.
The CEN police are investigating further.
