Mangaluru, Feb 10: ADGP Law and Order Alok Kumar received grievances from the public of Mangaluru city police commissionarate on Friday, February 10.
Public came in large numbers to give their representations to ADGP Alok Kumar pertaining to several problems in Mangaluru.
Issues like illegal activities, skill games, matka and corruption charges came up during the public grievances meet.
ADGP Alok Kumar said, "We won't tolerate any illegal activity and I have instructed our officials to take action against any such thing taking place in the city. I have also conducted meetings with the college management deans and have asked them to strengthen their internal mechanism to curb drug menace and our drive against it will continue."
"Even we have come to know about unauthorised PGs. Police have to keep an eye on such PGs and conduct meetings once in three months at the station level and also make frequent visit to the PGs," ADGP Alok Kumar said.
"Without an interim test, police will not arrest any person involved in drug consumption. I have asked police to be fair and do the right thing," said Alok Kumar.
"The DYFI has alleged about illegal activities taking place in Mangaluru. They should give a specific complaint for the police to act upon it," he said.
While social activist Prasanna Ravi said, "ADGP Alok Kumar conducted public grievance meet. If we have to give all the information with documents and proof then what is the duty of the Police?"
Meanwhile, ADGP Alok Kumar said, "Bandobast has been made for Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Dakshina Kannada district with 11 platoons of KSRP personnel and over 1000 policemen have been deployed. Road barricading has been done for the smooth conduction of the event."
