Udupi, Feb 7: A court of the city sentenced a man, accused of stealing cash and golden ornaments from a house to five years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 5000.
Sukhesh Naik is the accused who is convicted in the case. He entered the house of Babu Acharya, resident of backside road of Jumadi Katte temple, Dugganna Bettu, Gundibail of Shivalli village, on the night of November 17, 2021 and stolen golden ornaments that were kept in the locker of the Godrej cupboard and cash that was kept on the table. The sub inspector of city police station had filed charge sheet in this case.
Justice Shakuntala, who conducted the inquiry found Sukhesh guilty and he was awarded five years in prison and Rs 5000 in fine.
Jayanti assistant public prosecutor argued for the prosecution.
