Kadaba, Jan 17: Sanjeeva Poojary, deputy zonal forest officer of Koila, who used to post derogatory comments against Hindu outfits on social media, has been suspended from service.
Chief Conservator of Forests and Discipline Authority of Mangaluru passed an order to suspend Poojary on the accusation of writing derogatory comments against Hindu activists and also not answering the questions of Hirebandadi villagers in the gram sabha meeting.
Poojary had posted several comments on social media about religious issues and drawn the ire of Hindu activists. A month ago, he had posted derogatory posts about people who sing bajans and the Bajrang Dal activists had urged for his suspension.
MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor had written a letter to the forest department asking them to transfer the officer, who is stubborn, disrespectful and writing derogatory comments about bajans and those who sing them, to other district and also take action.
