Bantwal, Jan 17: A cow that was left grazing in the farm of Keldodi of Panjikallu village in the taluk was killed by a leopard. The incident came to light on Monday January 16.
The carcass of cow was found in the farm owned by Sheenappa Poojary, a resident of Keldodi. The leopard attacked the cow on Sunday night.
Two cows were left for grazing on Sunday morning. One cow returned to the shed in the evening. The other was still grazing in the farm. But it was not found on Monday morning. After searching for long time, its carcass was found at a corner of the farm.
Bantwal forest department was duly informed and the officials visited the site. Veterinary doctor Avinash Bhat did the post mortem of the carcass, which was buried later.
