Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 12: Minimum temperature is reduced in twin districts and the intensity of chill has increased considerably.
On Wednesday morning, extreme chill coupled with cloudy weather prevailed in Dakshina Kannada district. In rural areas, the chill was unbearable.
Mangaluru airport recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8 deg C and minimum of 19.6 deg C. This is 2 deg C less than the usual temperature.
Panambur recorded maximum temperature of 35.5 deg C. This is 3.2 deg C more than usual temperature of this time of the year. Minimum temperature was 17.6 deg C which is 3.6 deg C less than usual.
Madikeri recorded 10.9 deg C and 29.6 deg C minimum and maximum temperatures. Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga recorded minimum temperatures of 13 and 11.6 deg C.
According to forecast of meteorological department, the chilly weather will continue for some more days.
