Mangaluru, Jan 9: Cold weather is prevailing in coastal districts and the minimum temperature is falling day by day. With the change in weather, fear of contagious diseases is also on the rise.
Dew along with cold breeze is blowing in early mornings and late evenings. Fever, cough, cold and throat pain are seen. Patients suffering from allergy and asthma need to be more vigilant. During winter, the growth of bacteria and virus will increase and immunity will be affected.

Consumption of outside food should be reduced. Hands and feet should be washed thoroughly. Keep the body warm by wearing woollen clothing. It is better to wear face mask while going out. Drinking boiled and cooled water and hot food is advised. Those who are suffering from arthritis should see that their body is kept warm. Exercise and consuming food that will increase immunity is advised to stay healthy.
