Thane (Maharashtra), May 19 (IANS) A man in this Maharashtra city has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend by strangulating her with the wire of a mobile charger, police said Thursday.
"Nilesh Satve, 35, was assisted in his placement business by Monika Tribhuvan, 28. They are also said to be having an affair," said an official from Kasarwadavali Police Station.
Tribhuvan stayed at the Ghodbunder Road area with her mother, while Satve also stayed in the same area and ran a placement agency nearby.
According to the police, Satve came to Tribhuwan's home Wednesday evening while her mother was not home. They had a heated argument after she asked Satve, who is married and has two children, to marry her, following which Satve strangulated her with the wire.
"Tribhuvan's mother discovered the dead body of her daughter after she returned home at 9 p.m. and informed police," the official said.
Satve has been arrested, but is denying having committed the murder, the official said, adding that investigations are on.
