Kadaba, Nov 9: Cattle transporters of Kondibala Majjaru Karanika Kshetra have alleged and complained that Bajrang Dal activists had stopped their vehicle and robbed them of gold chains and cash a few days back near Murachedu.
Sudhir and Belliyappa, residents of Anekal were stopped when cattle was being illegally transported. The VHP and Bajrang Dal activists handed over the vehicle consisting of cattle to the police.
During the incident, a gold chain and some cash belonging to one of them was found missing. They alleged that VHP general secretary Pramod Rai Nanduguri, Jayanth Kallugudde and Bajrang Dal activists Rakshit Kepu, Santosh Dola, Theertesh Meenadi had stolen the items.
An enquiry was conducted under the leadership of president of the Kshetra, Prasad Kedilaya, on Tuesday.
Bajrang Dal activists who were present for the enquiry denied the allegations and said that they were trying to prevent cattle from being transported while also handing them over to the police. They said they had not stolen gold or cash and that they had not seen it at all. They said they were willing to swear before the god adding that the transporters were illegally moving the cattle which was not conceded by them. The transporters of cattle had said that they were taking the animals for rearing which the Bajrang Dal activists charged that they were lying.
At this point of time, Sudhir confessed to the crime and said he had lied about transporting the cattle to his sister's place. He said the cattle was being transported to be handed over to a person and promised that they will not henceforth indulge in such acts.
Later, prayers were offered to the god pertaining to the missing gold chain and cash. Leaders of the Kshetra Sudarshan Gowda, Madhava Kolte, Raghurama Nayak Kukkerebettu and others were present.
