Mangaluru, Nov 3: The CCB police have arrested three people for transporting and selling MDMA narcotic drugs.
Acting on definite tip off that the banned narcotic MDMA is being brought into the city through Kerala border in a car, CCB inspector Mahesh Prasad and PSI Rajendra B, along with their staff waylaid the car at Thacchani on Talapady-Devipura road. On checking they found MDMA in the car.
The arrested accused are Abdul Rehman Arpaan alias Jaldi Arpaan (24), a resident of Melangadi Mane, Ullal, Abdul Jaleel (42) of flat no 102, Kumar view apartments, Bokkapatna and Mohammed Mansoor (29) of Kapikad Mane, Boliyar village.
Police confiscated MDMA narcotic drugs weighing 32 gram, valued at Rs 1.62 lac, four mobile phones, digital weighing scale, Rs 22, 000 cash and a Maruti Ignis car that was used for transportation. The total value of the confiscated goods is said to be Rs 7.17 lac.
The accused were buying the drugs illegally in Kerala and were selling the same in Deralakatte, Mudipu, Nettilapadavu, Talapady, Ullal and Mangaluru city areas. With the same intention the trio was coming to city from Talapady when they were caught.
A case against the accused is filed in CEN crime police station. They were produced in court and sent to judicial custody. Many other are involved in this case. Police are searching for them.
Among the three accused, seven cases are registered against Abdul Rehman Arpaan in Ullal and Mangaluru south police stations. Accused Abdul Jaleel was involved in dacoity in 1999 at Vittal. Mohammed Mansoor has attempt to murder cases on him at Konaje and Mangaluru south police stations.
