Udupi, Nov 1: “BJP has not made any special preparation for the elections. We are always ready to face elections. Our government is giving more stress for development. We are making the schemes of union and state governments available to commoners,” said district in charge minister S Angara.
Speaking to media in the city, Angara said, “The first workshop with regards to inland fishing in Karnataka has been organized. Union and state governments will give full support to the fishing industry in order to produce various products from fish. Plans are afoot to market the fish that is available in the coastal region of Karnataka to overseas countries. Discussions have been held about natural and artificial fishing. Plans have been made for freshwater and artificial fishing too.
“PM Narendra Modi has plans to make India the biggest producer and exporter of fish in the world. He has given instructions to all the fishing ministers of the country. We are aiming to make Karnataka numero uno with regards to production and export of fish. While fish is processed in fish meal industries and exported, a huge quantity of waste is generated. There is a plant to produce biodiesel from this waste. Research on this will take place on the land belonging to the fisheries department situated in Mulki. This project will begin by January 2023," he said.
Angara added, “We will supply kerosene to traditional fishermen within two or three days. We will supply them with petrol engines in the coming days. Traditional fishermen should use petrol engines and reduce kerosene usage to protect the environment. We will resolve this temporary issue."
“We have already chalked out plans for silt removal at four places in Malpe port. As some have approached the court in this regard, the work is delayed. I will meet Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday in Bengaluru and take a decision in this regard within two or three days,” he assured.
Responding to a query on giving priority to youth this time around in BJP, Angara said, “Party will decide ticket distribution. I am ready to act as an old man. I am ready to run around actively like a youth or boy. We do not make any plans with power and vote in mind. State government thinks that every individual and Karnataka as a whole should be developed.”
