Bantwal, Oct 30: A case was filed in Vittal police station about a theft that occurred between 11 pm of March 9, 2022 and 4 am on March 10, 2022, when the house members of Hamza Mura, a resident of Mittur House in Idkidu village were sleeping inside the house.
The thieves broke open the backdoor and stole 107 grams of gold kept in the cupboard. The value of the stolen valuables is Rs 4.28 lac.
The police arrested Mohammed K U, a resident of Taliparamba in Kannur district in connection with the theft. On interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and that he has sold the stolen ornaments at Kasargod. The police recovered 80.10 gram of gold from the said shop in Kasargod, the value of which is estimated to be Rs 3.71 lac. The accused is being presented in the court and has been sent to judicial custody.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of SP Hrishikesh Sonawane and additional SP Kumarachandra. The team was led by DySP Bantwal Pratap Singh Thorat, SI Nagaraj H, station PSI Sandeep Kumar Shetty, PSI Rukma Naik and other personnel.
