Mangaluru, Oct 28: In connection to the case where photo and video of Congress leader Pratibha Kulai in a derogatory manner was uploaded on social media, the accused surrendered and appeared before the court on Thursday October 27.
The accused who surrendered is identified as K R Shetty, a resident of Adyarpadav. Shetty surrendered himself to the court and was accompanied by an advocate. He was sent to a day’s police custody by the court. Another accused Shyamsundar Bhat Hosamale, who added lewd comments on the said post, is absconding. The police informed that four police teams are on the lookout for Shyamsundar.
It may be recalled, Pratibha had resisted the arrest by police on October 18 during the protest that was staged in front of Surathkal toll gate urging for the closure of the same. The photo and video that was shot during the arrest of Pratibha was edited in an obscene manner and made viral on social media.
A complaint was filed in women police station of the city by Pratibha Kulai.
