Beltangady, Oct 26: Two child brothers who were suffering from fever died within a span of 24 hours in a private hospital of Mangaluru.
Mohammed Sinan (10) and Mohammed Safwan (4), sons of Mohammed Abbas and Maimuna couple, residents of Ladi in Padangadi village are the unfortunate victims of this tragedy.
Safwan was admitted in a local anganwadi while Sinan was studying in fourth grade at Odilnala school. On October 21, both the boys returned after playing and developed mild fever. They were treated in a local hospital. However, on October 22, the fever shot high and the local doctor advised taking the siblings to Mangaluru for higher treatment. They were admitted to ICU as they had very high fever. Safwan died on October 24 and Sinan succumbed on October 25.
Hospital sources said that the fever was a type of Pneumonia and the organs of children stopped working and did not respond to treatment.
Mohammed Abbas is a mason and his wife Maimuma is a housewife. Both are in extreme grief after losing their sons.
