Mangaluru/Udupi, Oct 9: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, October 9, reported eight new coronavirus cases while seven cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,37,086 out of which 24 are currently active. As many as eight patients were discharged on October 9.
No deaths were reported on October 9. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.48 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Seven coronavirus cases were reported on October 9.The total active Covid cases are 21.
A total of 10,90,763 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,435 have received both doses and 2,92,811 people have received booster doses.
Udupi registered one case while Kundapur registered six and Karkala reported zero cases.
