Udupi, Oct 9: Udupi block Congress has alleged that Goa chief minister Pramodh Sawant had consumed non-vegetarian food before visiting Sri Krishna Mutt on his tour to the district on Saturday, October 8.
In a press statement issued by Ramesh Kanchan, Udupi Block Congress president said Goa chief minister Pramodh Sawant had eaten non-vegetarian food at the inspection bungalow where he stayed for the afternoon lunch. He was accompanied by Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and other BJP leaders.
“Why didn’t the BJP which taunted Siddaramaiah of going to the temple after eating non-vegetarian food not notice this issue pertaining to the Goa chief minister? Now, doesn't the mutt become impure and desecrated?" he questioned.
“Faking that Congress leaders visited the temple after consuming meat is a part of the toolkit to portray Congress as anti-Hindu. BJP has accepted this fact by now," he said in a statement.
