Udupi, Sep 30: The International Day of Older People is observed on October 1 each year. This day is celebrated by raising awareness about issues affecting the elderly, such as senescence and elder abuse. It is also a day to appreciate the contributions that older people make to the society. The theme for the International Day of Older Persons this year is 'Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World'.

On the occasion of International Day for Older Persons, Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi in association with the Centre for Studies on Healthy Aging and Manipal College of Health Professions, Manipal is organizing a screening camp for older adults on October 1, Saturday at 1st Floor, OPD Block of Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi Screening is available for vision, hearing, cognition, mental health, fall risk, diabetic foot, physical fitness, and functional abilities.
