Puttur, Sep 30: President of 21st taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelana Dr Sridhar H G said that the depleting number of students in degree colleges is cause for concern.
Dr Sridhar presided over the function that was held at Srishankara auditorium of Ambika group of institutions campus.
Dr Sridhar further said, “New educational policy has created concern as the educational institutions are trying to recover from the effect of corona pandemic. If the number of students deplete in the present manner, within next three years universities have to face shortage of students.”
Dr Sridhar said that those who are learing Kannada M A should get encouragement and financial support in Karnataka as they are given in outstation states.
KaSaPa president Nadoja Dr Mahesh Joshi inaugurated the programme and said that the people of coastal Karnataka speak and write Kannada in similar manner.
City municipality vice president Vidya Gowri, Puttur AC Girish Nandan, taluk panchayat ceo Naveen Kumar Bhandary, tahsildar Nisargapriya, member of municipality Jagannivas Rao, presidents of Kannada Sahitya Parishad units of various taluks and office bearers of Puttur unit were on the dais.
Puttur Umesh Nayak, president of KaSaPa Puttur did the introductory speech. Subramanya Nattoja of Ambika group of education institutions welcomed the gathering. Pushpalatha and Rajesh Bannur compered the event and rendered vote of thanks. Treasurer Dr Harsha Kumar Rai coordinated.
