Mangalore: CET – Defective Question Paper Flummoxes Students

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 28: In the question paper (A4 series) for mathematics distributed to the candidates appearing for the Common Entrance Test (CET) on Wednesday April 7, defects were noticed. As a result, students lost precious time pondering over possible answers, as they were forced to mark one of the choices, although wrong, as their answer.

All the four choices given for question numbers 14, 33, 53 and 55 were found to be wrong. The students are now anxiously awaiting a response from Karnataka Examination Authority for their predicament relating to this faux pas, as every mark can make or mar their future.

Prof S S Bosco, mathematics professor, opined that such mistakes create a sense of confusion among the students. He felt that they should not have been allowed to creep into tests being held for professional courses like CET.

Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, stressed that such blunders are unpardonable. He said that the mistakes in the question paper have given rise to worry among the student community about their future prospects.

Narendra Nayak also informed that the second PU students who have appeared for physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology examinations of the common entrance test, can compare the answers they have given, with the correct answers, by visiting the website, www.expertclasses.org. The answers will be made available in the site, along with explanatory notes, with effect from Wednesday evening, he added.
