Kasargod: Two youths having bath in rivulet meet watery grave

Kasargod, Sep 29: Two youths drowned in Payaswini rivulet at Bedadka Karichheri on Wednesday September 28 evening. Their mortal remains were recovered in the night.

Vijit (23), a resident of Kollam and Ranju (24), a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, are the victims of this tragedy.

The duo got down into the rivulet in order to have bath at around 4 pm but drowned in the process. Fire service personnel, police and locals searched for their bodies and found the same at around 11 pm.

The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after post mortem. Both were working in a company at Chennai and had come to the house of their colleague Vishnu, native of Munamb. They had been to Goa and had come to Ranipura on September 25.

In total, four people got down into the rivulet. The relatives of the deceased rushed to Kasargod after hearing the shocking news. Police said that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives after post mortem around noon on Thursday.

    Such tragic cases are increasing since some time.Please avoid in future taking bath in rivulet ,and go home safe and take bath there .Depth of such rivulets are very dangerous and noone knows it.Be safe.May their souls rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathies to their families.
