Dammam, Apr 27: TAMIMI bags Mayur Amin Memorial Trophy – 2011 after beating Al Anwaar Cricketers in the finals which was played on 22nd April in Dammam and the tournament was sponsored by M M AMIN Est, Dammam.
Al Anwaar Caption Haneef Won the toss and opted bat first. Opener Majeed and Shanawaz batted steadily and put on 30 runs for the 1st wicket. They were 40/2 in the 7th over. At this stage Shakeel and Alam played sensible and built up a valuable partnership for 47 runs for the 3rd wicket. After the departure of Alam and Shakeel not a single batsman had settled on the crease to straighten the batting and Al Anwaar was able to reach a target of 109/9 in allotted 16 over.
Accurate bowling and fielding of Tamimi resulted 4 run out in Al anwaar's innings, which caused heavy
loss to Anwaar to score the runs freely.
For Al Anwaar
Shakeel: 36, Alam – 27 and Shanawaz: 17
For Tamimi: Veeragale and Nuwan took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a target, Tamimi lost their opener sarath in the 2nd over. Then all-rounder Hakeem joined Anura
and both batted superbly by maintaining the required average and crushed 51 in 6th over. After the fall
of Anura and Hakeem, TAMIMI too lost 3 more vital of wicket caption Prabhath, Nuwan, and Veeragale.
At this crucial stage Firdous joined Jay and played sensible and responsible crickets and helped the
team for easy victory without loosing further wickets.
Tamimi defeated Al Anwaar by 4 wickets.
For Tamimi
Hakeem : 39, Anura : 24, Jay: 18 and Firdous : 14.
For Al Anwaar Sajed bowled good line & length and took 4/20.
Hakeem of TAMIMI adjourned "Man of the match" for his excellent batting performances.
Prior to this final: a first semi final was played Blue Stars Vs Tamimi. Batted first Tamimi were 120/8 and in reply Blue Star was all-out for 61.
Nuwan not out 48 and Hakeem took 5/20.
In the second Semi Final was played Amaco Jubail Vs Al Anwaar Cricketers. Batted First Al Anwaar was 94/9 in allotted 16 over. Majeed 20 and Thanzeel of Amaco took 4/9. In reply Amaco Jubail was able to reach 90/9 in allotted 16 over. Shabbier 29 and Alam took 4/8.
After the finals – Chief Guest of the day avi Karkera – President MASA lauded the efforts of DCA committee, while organizing such a wonderful tournaments which was played for 5 months with 32
teams participated from Dammam, Al Khobar , Jubail and Seihat.

"Ivan Pinto" judged Man of the match for his brilliant batting and bowling performance.
