Mangaluru, Sep 23: Ullal police arrested three people in connection with the theft of cattle from Madoor site near Ullal brandishing swords, wooden logs and threatening with life. The main accused in the case is absconding.
Zabir (24), a resident of Tipu Nagar of Bantwal Kasaba village, Hyder Ali (24), a resident near Ammemar mosque of Farangipet and Mohammed Arif alias Asif (30), from Sangabettu near Siddakatte of Bantwal are the accused arrested by the police. A search is on for three absconding accused including the main accused.
On September 22 in the wee hours, a bull that was tied to the Ashwathakatte near Aiyappa Mandir of Madoor Vanadurga, was being pulled away by the accused in an inhumane manner. When the bull bellowed, owner of the bull Satish came running from the house. However, he was threatened with sword and wooden logs by the accused, who took the four-year-old bull in the car. The bull was worth Rs 30,000.
A complaint in this regard was filed by Satish at Ullal police station. The police team led by ACP Dinakar Shetty was able to arrest three within 24 hours.
