Mangaluru: NIA entered SDPI local office unlawfully, alleges dist party chief

Mangaluru, Sep 22: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) district president Aboobaker Kulai on Thursday, September 22 alleged that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials had unlawfully entered the SDPI office at 3.30 am.

Addressing a press meet at the SDPI office here, Aboobaker Kulai said, "The NIA officials gained entry into the office after breaking open the lock of the gate and the glass of the office front door. We came to know about the incident at around 8.30 am. When I questioned them about the incident, they claimed that they had a court order. When examined, the court order stated that raids need to be carried out only on PFI offices."

Also, he said that the party will fight against such injustice constitutionally and legally in the coming days. SDPI is a constitutionally registered political party with the Election Commission of India.

"They have taken away our files and pamphlets related to various programmes organised by the SDPI and also the photo albums of various programmes besides a laptop and two hard disks," he said.

" PFI is a social organisation working for the past 20 years. Today, NIA have detained six leaders from the district. Within 24 hours they should be released. If they are not freed we will fight a constitutionally legal battle and stage a severe agitation against the state and union governments," he added.

Aboobaker alleged that the raid was politically motivated and orchestrated by the BJP and Sangh Parivar to suppress the SDPI. But, SDPI will not buckle under pressure. People are aware of the 40% commission government among other issues. To cover up for their mistakes as there is no development in the country or in the state, such raids are being conducted. Also, the public does not have a good opinion about the union and state governments. Why are raids not being carried out against BJP leaders, he questioned.

Jaleel Krishnapura alleged that government agencies are being misused against those who raise their voice against BJP and oppose their ideology.

Athahulha Jokatte alleged that fascist forces and Manuvadis are ruling the country as well as the state. All secular parties should unite to fight them.

Anwar Sadath also spoke on the occasion.

    It is NIA ( National Investigation Agency) and they are there for the purpose. Moreover, Hindu organization did have gone through many such raids in the past. even our criminal sadhus are arrested. but, Hindus by large never support the wrongs and come to the road. we allow the organization to fight it out in the court.

    Dear Ashraf. What makes you think a Catholic can also be anti national? I stand by my nation and I trust the problems lie at the root of the beliefs of these people. Parties are only representative of a greater design to bring the entire nation under that belief. There are many foreign hands at play here and we dont need to look the place where the petro dollar is earned.there is no fake ID. I am a catholic from mangalore for many generations. Dont be surprised.

    Yes so by your logic the sadhus and Sadhvi preaching hatred and venom against Muslims that’s acceptable RSS,VHP training young kids with guns and other weapons that’s all fine and giving provoking speeches that’s completely acceptable so in short the majority can have all rights and can go on doing cold blood murders spree just like what happened in the case of mangalore and the state government openly supported them so whatever Muslims do is unlawful and whatever the other groups do is justified so remove your glasses filled with hatred and biases and condemn whatever needed to be condemned

    Correct. Ban will not serve any purpose, they will only change the names-like roads and circles in Mangalore. NIA has taken preventive action which has to be appreciated. Kongis who were saying that SDPI / PFI are B team of ruling party are now silent. Irrespective of religion those involved in murder, assaults and terror should be taken care of, BEFORE the event occurs. In another case - that of Kalburgi /Gauri Lankesh murder, explosion tests were carried out in a rubber plantation in Pilathbetta near Mangalore,no action was taken, Anonymous reporting of illegal activities,to a dedicated e-mail Id/postal address should be encouraged,so that authorities can keep a watch and take preventive action.
