Mangaluru/Udupi, Sep 21: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, September 21, reported 18 new coronavirus cases while three cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,962 out of which 58 are currently active. As many as five patients were discharged on September 21.

Zero deaths were reported on September 21. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,860.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.21% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Three coronavirus cases were reported on September 21. The total active Covid cases are 34.

A total of 10,90,684 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,85,133 have received both doses and 2,81,221 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported two cases, while Kundapur added one case and Karkala registered zero case.
