Bantwal, Sep 21: The government has directed every village to have a garden on the occasion of platinum jubilee of independence of India. Accordingly, a beautiful public Amrit garden is built by Sangabettu gram panchayat (GP).
Each gram panchayat is given Rs 25 lac grant under Amrit gram panchayat scheme to do various works, which includes the building of a public garden also. There is a central ground near the gram panchayat office at Siddakatte where this beautiful garden is built.
The beautiful garden is located on both sides of the entrance of gram panchayat office. The construction of the garden has doubled the beauty of the gram panchayat office also.
The garden shines with lush green grass. For children swings and slides are provided. For senior citizens walking track and benches to sit are built. Plants of flowers and fruits are also planted. Public are seen having a good time in the evening in the garden.
Satish Poojary Alakke, president of Sangabettu gram panchayat says, “Sangabettu gram panchayat is selected for Amrit gram panchayat scheme. We got opportunity to build a garden. Accordingly a beautiful garden is made. Public has to make good use of the same.”
