Mulky, Sep 19: Engineers day was celebrated by Mulky Rotary Club and Civil Engineer Association in Karnad Rotary Sabhabhavana. Jovin Prakash D’souza, president Mulky Rotary club presided over the function.
Dr Ramesh Mittanthaya, dean and vice-principal of Nitte Engineering college was felicitated on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Life is meaningful when we involve ourselves in the work of society. Children should be educated in this regard. The recently implemented National Education Policy by the Central Government is complementary to this objective. Education should benefit society. This objective is being implemented in the National Education Policy”.
Jeevan K Shetty, president Engineers association on the occasion said, “No one comes forward to learn civil engineering because no one is ready to work hard. Sir M Vishweshvarayya and Dr R N Shetty's ideals should be followed by everyone. With the cooperation of all, Mulky has been converted into a taluk. Everyone's cooperation is essential for Mulky to develop further. ACEM and Rotary Club have a mission to make Mulky a Smart Mulky. Moolikapur, which was famous for herbs, has become Mulky, and for this reason, Ayurveda Medical College for Mulky and Agricultural University should be established in Mulky as per the resolution taken during the state level agricultural fair held in Mulky Kolnadu in March. In addition to this, from Sasihitlu beach to Bappanadu temple should be developed as a tourism corridor. Beach tourism, backwater tourism, agro tourism, medical tourism, temple tourism should be codified and developed in Mulki taluk. This gives us an opportunity to create employment”.
