Tribute of love

Lucy D’Souza
Wife of Late Alexander Bernard D’Souza,
(Retired Teacher of St. Joseph’s School, Belman)

Born: 9th December 1917  --  Passed away:  22nd January 2012

Near shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God’s free light.
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding its sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height.
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride.
It followed the light through the crevice’s length,
And unfolded itself on the other side!
The light, the dew, the broadening view,
Were found the same as they were before.
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and more...
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
And make our courage faint and fall?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive…
The rose still grows beyond the wall....!

Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know, but her goodness, her caring and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with us. Now she is gone from this world and from our midst in answer to the call from the almighty Lord...  We will miss her presence, her ever smiling face, her touch of love and her loving words.  But she will always remain in our hearts and minds till we meet her again in heaven.
Our beloved Mai, you toiled on earth enough and now peacefully rest on Jesus` lap; rest in peace in His loving care forever and ever.
