God gave us treasure for a while,
to fill us with his love
Then he took our darling child,
to dwell with him above.

You were all we ever wanted
and now you'll never be.
You were going to be our future
now that is not there to see.

Surely, the pain will lessen
and we’ll genuinely smile once more
but the emptiness will stay
and our hearts will forever be sore.

And today on your 2nd birthday,
we remember you so very dearly.
We know you are looking at us
as we see your star shining brightly.
