BENNETTE D’MELLO TURNS “FIFTY”
The golden boy Bennette D’Mello – a man of all seasons turns 50 on 20th May 2010, reaching a milestone in his illustrious life. Bennett who is a bundle of multi talents and above all a wonderful human being loved and admired by thousands for his simplicity and down to earth human nature.
Bennette is one of the most sought after personality in the UAE, especially in Abu Dhabi.
Bennette is the 8th Child among a huge family of 11 children born to the late Francis and Juliana D’Mello of Bejai, Mangalore. After completing his schooling at St. Aloysius High school, he obtained diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bangalore and took upto teaching at the pretigous Hebich Technical Institute in Balmatta, Mangalore. After a stint for eight years he decided to proceed to Abu Dhabi to join two of his elder brothers who had settled there and working. Soon he found employment at the Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) and has been working for this Institute for the past 19 yeaars.
Bennette D’Mello is known for his extraordinary talent of wit and humour. He has a huge friends circle and a fan club following him in the UAE as well as in Mangalore. Even now some of his good old friends get excited when they learn about Bennette’s arrival in Mangalore and try to meet him or spend an evening with him.
Bennette is the man who doesn’t know to say ‘NO’ to anyone, whatever may be the case - such is his nature.
In addition to this natural talent of humour, he is a good dancer too. He was declared the first Baila King in the first ever open Baila Dancing competition held in Mangalore way back in 1985.
Benette also has a great talent of art and drawing. No Mangalorean social event in Abu Dhabi is complete without Bennett’s golden touch. His artistic decorations with full of originality and finesse are the talk of the town. Because of his creative ideas he is one of the most sought after decorators always in demand in the UAE.
Bennett found his love and life partner in Predita way back in 1989. Bennett and Predita’s marriage is an example of a genuine friendship turning into marriage and living a happy and contented married life.
Predita is no less in talents in comparison to Bennette . She is a gifted dancer and lover of music too. Both together are fantastic hosts and those who visit them regularly reveal that they are a real stress-busters after a busy and stressful week.
Bennettt is also a great social worker and a great help for his friends while in need. He is also great organizer with attention to details. He is an active and senior member of the Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO)of Abu Dhabi, currently its Entertainment Secretary, an active and key member of Emirates paradela – a well known cultural and Charitable organization in the UAE and the committee member of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha.
As Bennette celebrates his 50th Golden Birthday, his family, Friends and well wishers join in wishing him all the best things in life with good health, peace and prosperity.
