Mariola Philomena Rego (81), wife of Bobsy (Edward), mother of Joseph & Mie, Miriam, Mark & Merlyn, the late Steve, Ivan & Charmaine and Vernon & Lalitha, grandmother of Shaun, Nikita, Karina, Tiala, Steve and Nadine, passed away in Mangalore on July 23, 2018.

Her mortal remains will be placed for viewing and final respects in St Sebastian’s Church, Bendur, Mangalore from 10.30 am on Sunday, July 29, with Mass to follow at 11.00 am.

Prayers in lieu of flowers will be appreciated.

Dear Joseph, Miriam ,Mark, Ivan and Vernon,
I am very sad to hear the sad news of the passing of a great devotee of Infant Jesus, Carmel Hill, Mangalore. I was at Infant Jesus for more than 12 years carrying out various responsibilities, important of which were being the Superior and Provincial. During those years I was in close touch with Mariola, who used to visit the shrine on every Thursdays, and on week days oft. She used to spend long hours before the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and adoration. From the beginning she became a close friend of mine, often i used to hear her confession; when she was sick she used to call me to her her home to receive the Holy Communion; Holy Rosary was not missing from her hand; she suffered a lot of joint pains and used to offer her pain for the souls in Purgatory and for priest s and for the welfare of her children. Being her confessor and friend I can certify that she was a woman of great faith, very saintly , devout and pious. In spite of her great suffering and pain, she was very patient and cheerful and never complaining! She was also very much instrumental in bringing many a persons to the Infant Jesus Shrine. In Mariola we have lost a great woman of faith, a true devotee of Infant Jesus, a very good Christian, good mother and a good friend of ours !! May the Heavenly and Merciful Father admit her into His eternal abode. Amen ! R.I.P.
