Fr Ligoury Philip Noronha (82), OFM Capuchin, belong to the Holy Trinity Capuchin Province – Karnataka, Son of the late Baptist Noronha and the late Seraphin Tauro of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Madanthyar, Mangalore Diocese, residing at Kripalaya, Institute of Philosophy and Religion, Bogadi-Mysore, passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2016.

Funeral Mass will be at 3.00 p.m. on Friday December 9, 2016 at St. Fidelis Friary, Monte Mariano – Farangipet.

I know Fr.Ligoury since last 42 years when I was a kid in 5th STD we had gone to Farenget from Jerosa Convent for a Dance from then I know him. I used to call him my uncle. He was my guide and philosopher. After my parents if I love and respect some one as a fatherly figure it was you my uncle. Rest in peace. Enjoy the eternal bliss with Jesus and angel's. You will be remembered every day. Eternal rest grant unto him o lord and let perpetual light shine up on him and may his soul rest in peace. Amen

Ifirst met Fr Ligoury in 2002 , just after my wife Sylvia's death. His advice to me was "Seek for treasure in heaven and not for comforts of this world".At that time of sorrow he directed my mind to look for the timeto come. Fr Ligoury was a saintly man who lived a simple life of poverty, humility and chastity. It would do well for all Caps to emulate him in their way of life. My prayers go out family and all the Caps.
Eternal rest is his blessing.

Fr. Liguori was a near and dear friend and spiritual guide and our association was for over 6 years or so. A great priest who gave his time when ever I requested for a spiritual activity. He would listen to me patiently when ever I did request his attention. His departure from Sri Lanka was sad but his departure from all of us is a sorrow. I feel Fr. Liguori was a great minister of God, dedicated, sincere, kind and above all one of the best religious who I had come across in my life. I grieve his demise. May his soul rest in peace. I share with all the family member and the Capuchin friar this sadness and mourn together with them. May his soul rest in peace.

The death of Fr. Liguory Noronha is a big loss to the Karnataka Capuchin Province. He was truly a holy priest, an authentic capuchin and an able administrator. As a Rector and Novice Master he had been an excellent mentor to many young seminarians, keeping always his knowledge up to date. He had soft corner to the poor too. We miss you Fr. Liguory. May God reward you eternal peace.

I lost a wonderful and committed priest. He is my uncle. His life has influenced me. He was a man of prayer. He kept him busy till the end. Fr. Ligoury Noronha was a God's gift to our Karnataka Capuchin Province. A holy, austere and well disciplined Capuchin friar a dedicated priest and stern administrator as well. He had been an excellent mentor to number of young seminarians with his caliber of mind and kindness of heart, as Rector and Novice Master. We miss you Fr. Liguory. May the Lord grant you eternal reward.
