Stella Aranha (93) nee Pereira, relict of Ernest Aranha of the Mulki Gazni Aranhas, passed away peacefully to her heavenly abode from Etibicoke in Canada on Sunday, 28th August 2016. Survived by her children Merv (& Karen) Aranha (Glencoe / Ontario); Ashok Aranha (Florida USA); and Diana Aranha (Etibicoke/Ontario) and grandsons Nathan and Robert.

Visitation: Wednesday 31st from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Newediuk Funeral Home Kipling Chapel, 2058 Kipling Ave., Etibicoke, ON, M9W 4K3

Funeral on 1st September, 10am at St Andrews Roman Catholic Church, 2547 Kipling Ave., Etibicoke ON, M9W 4K3.

Burial thereafter at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 7300 Highway # 27, Woodbridge ON, L4H 0S2.

Dearest Merve,Ashok and Diana,
Aunt Stella was my father's eldest brother's wife.I remember her as being a very gentle and caring person.Met her a couple of years ago when we visited Canada.We particularly remember the evening we spent with her when she treated us with a lot of warmth and affection.As we pray for the repose of her soul we also pray that God grants you all the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Aunt Stella was a lovely lady . We were privileged to get to know her well when she spent some time with us . Her stately presence along with her kind , gentle and loving nature endeared her to us. We will miss you dearest Aunt but will treasure the memories.

Auntie Stella was special to us. She was the last of our parents' generation who had battled on to this day with comparatively good health at 93 - and she has now been summoned to her reward in heaven! The last of the old order is gone.
As our dad's youngest sister she meant a lot to our dad, and had the privilege of spending long spells of time at her brother's house and of being married off to uncle Ernest from Sukh Sagar, our house in Mangalore. Dad had told me how Stella as a teenager used to accompany him on his shikaar expeditions carrying the ammunition bag or the satchel for the game that was shot. Auntie Stella was also there when I was born in Salem visiting her favourite brother!
A very soft spoken, calm and sober person, aunt Stella was genuine in her affection and love for the family, always there to listen patiently and reminisce with you over the days gone by. No one has ever heard her speak ill of another, whatever be the circumstances When I visited her earlier in April this year, right away she remembered her brother and told me was: " ....when you entered, I felt it was Ligor-bab walking towards me!"
In her death not only we have lost a very dear aunt, but also the world has lost a lovely person. My deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to Merv & Karen, Nathan & Robert, Ashok and Diana. May her Creator grant aunt Stella eternal life, and may her soul rest in peace.

May Aunt Stella’s soul rest in peace. Aunt Stella was an amazing person. She is surely in heaven. Always with a smile, never did a harsh word come from her. Every single person admired her for her wisdom, goodness and kindness. We are going to miss her, but we have to be celebrating her life and thank God for giving us this great person for 93 beautiful years. I am sure she is enjoying the bliss of heaven and looking down on us from up there.
Dear Mervyn Ashok and Diana, may the good Lord be with you at this moment, give you the grace and ability to bear this loss. The void can never be filled, but I'm sure she will be happy seeing you celebrate her life.
May eternal rest be granted to Aunt Stella and may her soul rest in peace.
