Jerome Patrick Aranha (92), Ex Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai, son of the late George Aranha and the late Alice Aranha of Kulshekar, Mangalore, husband of the late Hilda Aranha, father of Hyacinth & Sheela, Jovita & Val, Melita & Patson, Reneeta & Donald, grandfather of Sheethal & Rohan, Charlene, Christine, Nikhil, Nandita & Adreen, Santosh, Aparna, Simona, Raynah, passed away after a brief illness on December 14, 2015 at Auckland, New Zealand.

Funeral on Sunday, December 20 at 11.00 am in St Therese Parish, 463 Mt Albert road, Three Kings, Auckland.

Being very closely associated during the entire tenure of life in Mumbai, Meena and myself share your grief. Bavoji was a source of guidance to all of us.. My father valued his wisdom immensely . His untiring zeal enabled him to work continuously as a Senior Officer in the Reserve Bank of India until superannuation and immediately continue with the Development Co Op. Bank until he attained the age of 81. His devotion to Mother Mary was so intense that he preferred to serve her at the Irla church during her Nativity feast declining to join the family wedding at Bangalore. I admired his leadership qualities be at the Usha Milan Housing Society, or at the Lallubhai Park group or at the senior citizen group of the Reserve Bank and even during his last visit to Mumbai just two years back. I was amazed at his scheduling visits from friends until late in the evening every day. His charism, coupled with vigor and self discipline always demonstrated his power of aggrandizement. His treasure of prayers ,love and service to others, we pray, have reposed his soul in peace.

As I heard the news in the wee hours of Monday Morn, I thought I was dreaming, but only to realize my dear uncle Jerome Aranha left for his heavenly abode leaving all of us in a state of shock and grief. Uncle Jorome is a rare breed of homo-sapiens perhaps one in a thousand I came across.Even in his ripe old age he was a bundle of joy and a treasure of knowledge specially for us youngsters to learn from his God given wisdom, he acquired through his mixed bag of life span. I find no words to pen down his great personality, he left us the legacy of good deeds on this earth for us to emulate.
Dear family members my sincerely condolences to you all. Though you miss his physical presence among you, however your Dad's deeply embedded memories will leave in your and our minds and hearts for a long time to come.
May his soul rest in peace.

Heartfelt condolences to JP's family. JP was the Treasurer of Kulshekar Association of Bombay while he was working for Reserve Bank of India. He was my neighbour too. He was a very pious and helpful gentleman. I still remember visiting him at RB Quarters at Bombay Central during our Audit days and having a delicious lunch prepared by his lovely wife. We pray to God to grant eternal life to the souls of these two wonderful people.
