Fr Jacob Lobo (53), Meerut Diocese,

Fr Jacob Lobo (53), who spent more than 27 years of his life as a devoted priest in Jesus Christ’ vineyard, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the morning.

He was born in Nirkan (Bantwal) parish on July 6, 1963 to Paul and Lily Lobo as the third child in a family of 8 children. (Five boys and three girls) His younger brother V P Lobo is a successful entrepreneur based in Mumbai and is Chairman/MD of T3 Urban Developers Limited.

Young Jacob joined the seminary at the age of 16 years and on April 18, 1989 he was ordained a priest for Meerat diocese. Even before he was ordained a priest he honestly and diligently worked for the diocese. As a youth he inculcated high moral values and love for the poor and throughout his religious life, he strived for the poor and the needy.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2015 in Meerut Diocese.

It was a great shock to me to hear the sad demise of Fr. Jacob Lobo. He was a very active priest of the diocese of Meerut. I had a good opportunity to work with him in the youth ministry in 1990s. The demise of Fr. Jacob is a great loss to the diocese of Meerut. I offer my heartfelt condolences to all the family members of Fr.
