Fr Francis Sebastian Kharjia SDB (58), Director of Indian English Academy School (Don Bosco), Kuwait, passed away on June 17, 2015. Native place - Utthan, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Requiem Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of Rev Fr Francis Kharjia will be celebrated by the Nuncio in the Holy Family Cathedral at 04:30 pm on June 18.

Mortal remains of Rev Fr Francis Kharjia will be taken to Mumbai on June 18th night by Kuwait Airways flight, reaching early morning on 19.06.2015.

Holy Mass at Utthan Church will be at 04:00 PM on Friday, 19th June 2015. Thereafter the mortal remains will be brought back to Don Bosco Shrine at Matunga, Mumbai.

The Funeral Mass at Don Bosco Shrine, Matunga, Mumbai will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday 20th June, followed by burial at Sewri Cemetery.

May God give Fr, Francis soul eternal rest. I had been to his house with my Brother Norbert D'Souza who was his class mate in Don Bosco Lonavla and his best friend. He and his family offered us good lunch. It was nice to know him, and He will always be missed. This is the circle of life. You are born and your destiny takes you all over the world, and eventually you are no more. Leaving behind people you love and who will sorrow for you all their life. I remember Fr Francis from our Lonavla school days.He was such a devout person that I used to compare him with St Dominic Savio and believed that one day he also be a saint.During our school days realising that the Marathi medium Uttan boys found it difficult to learn our English prayers,he wrote all English prayers in Marathi script and we quickly learnt all the prayers without any difficulty. Such were his innovative ways of helping others.I remember his parents so simple kind hearted devoted to God just like Fr Francis.The fact that he had such a painless and sudden death without any prolong illness or suffering is itself a manifestation that he had been a special child of God.I do not have to say that may his soul rest in peace,for I know that he is already in the company of Jesus and St John Bosco smiling upon all of us.Dear Fr Francis fate brought us together in school then we parted and got busy with our respective chosen vocations in life and we hardly met but I am surely going to miss you alot.Now that you are with Jesus please ask God to bless us and look after me and my Family.

My dear friend Fr Francis Kharjia was one of the 4 to complete becoming priests. Sadly,my younger brother Terence who was also like me in the Australian Customs, also passed away 6 days ago. My other classmate brought me back to JESUS.All mark my words that before2018 completes, we will be seeing the end of the world. We met Fr. Francis personally when we went on holiday together to Italy/Portugal/Lourdes/Fatima in May 2014. We also had the opportunity to hear his masses every day during our 12 days holy land trip. He also said our 25th Wedding Anniversary Mass in St. Francis Assisi Church in Italy.

A very good priest and gem of a person.
